Personal Training Program
It is astonishing that a lack of physical activity and a sedentary lifestyle contributes to chronic disease. Around 6-10% of the four major diseases (heart disease, type 2 diabetes and breast and colon cancer) worldwide that are preventable with as little as 30 minutes of exercise per day. We recognize that for some individuals there is a required motivation to be active, healthy and fit but these goals are hard to achieve without a push from a friend or professional. We want to empower our clients with good problem-solving and decision-making skills concerning their health and well-being. For those looking to improve at their respective sports, we want to encourage their drive and desire to refine their skills through applied proven research.
Performance Rx Sports Care offers training programs for anyone and everyone, regardless of age, gender, skill level, or athletic or fitness goals and abilities. We design our core programs for youth, middle school, high school, and elite athletes, as well as adults and teams. Training in small groups ensures maximum one-on-one attention. Injuries at work can occur suddenly, such as a slip or fall, or slowly over time with repetitive strain on an area of the body. If you are injured at work, make a claim through your employer, and the Workers Compensation Board will cover your initial assessment fee then decide if you are approved for further treatment. Be sure to make a claim through your employer within 5 days of becoming aware of your workplace injury. Workplace injuries are a common problem. We offer programs that provide workplace injury rehabilitation, work site assessments, and prevention ergonomic advice.
Ages 7-10 (Youth)
(getting them to move, body weight agility, very light weight medicine balls max 10 lbs)
During this vital time in a young child’s life, athletes are in developing their skills to move. The body prepares to absorb new information and ready to indoctrinate new movement patterns. This coaching program is a 60-minute session and creates the fundamentals of athleticism in a fun, positive, and high-success environment.
Our Youth curriculum places a high priority on strength, running and jumping technique, agility and coordination, balance and the introduction of important biomechanics and muscular movement patterns. These years are vital in establishing a child’s athletic foundation for improved performance, injury prevention, and long-term enjoyment of sports participation.
Ages 11-14 (Accelerated Performance)
( introduction to resistance dynamic movements)
In this next stage, athletes have discovered the significance of developing neuromuscular movement patterns. Athletic fundamentals have taken a foothold and begin developing and directed towards athletic skill application. This program focuses on the continuum of maintaining athletic muscle memory while refining and ingraining the necessary skills of their sport by focusing on speed, agility, and power. This repeated rehearsal leads to permanent and positive athletic change.
The appropriation of formal Strength and Power training during the 75-minute sessions provides benefits in two ways: First, proper biomechanical movement techniques in conjunction with increased force production lead to maximizing the individuals’ athletic potential. As athletes increase in height, weight, strength, and aggressiveness, the need for improved joint integrity is vital for reducing the chance of injury. Young athletes grow at different rates and need coaching to adapt to their changing bodies.
Ages 15+ (Competitive Performance)
(College/Club style training)
Many athletes in this age range have developed neuromuscular patterns and the fundamental skills of speed, agility, and power. This stage in a young athlete’s career is where they were once going to “practice” to now doing their “training”. Athlete’s technique is fine-tuned, and the final pieces to build the total athlete are provided. In essence, each athlete is optimized according to their biggest areas of improvement.
During the 90 minute sessions, pieces of training become sport specific and begin to resemble the demands required on the field. This developmental program focuses on the repetitive application of learned athleticism to create engrained mastered skills. We focus on Strength and Power increases thru the use of moderate and heavy resistance to enhance power output.
Our Adult training sessions are designed for two populations: sedentary adults and active adults looking for a challenging training program. The two different programs are aimed to challenge the person to put forth effort within the 60-minute movement-based sessions. No two sessions are alike, and all are fast-paced, educational, and promote safety, which is rare compared to a traditional design of corporate gym-based training sessions. The result is an increase in fitness as well as improved metabolism, body composition, VO2-MAX, and biomechanics.
Professional and Semi-professional Athletes
The Sports Performance programs for high caliber athletes are designed to provide an ultimate physical stimulus that challenges the outright limitations an elite athlete can handle. Due to the customized and maximal intensity nature, recovery and regeneration methods are implemented at the end of the training session. Our programs place the highest emphasis on applied and measurable performance, fine-tuning sport specific movements. Timelines to reach goals and exceed expectations are accelerated for this athletic population due to the elite competitive schedules and real-time demands. Training is periodized to include endurance, strength and power output optimization for the given season or off-season goals.
